Other names:: "What type of hut is this? This is a kammi / Kammit: This translates to “Turf Hut” or “turf huts” which are small buildings that are partially underground. And, the roof has grass (i.e. turf) on it. They are very rugged. Some turf huts you are allowed to sleep overnight others are meant just for day time use. They might have bunk beds for sleeping. Usually there is some sort of fireplace or wood burning stove, woodpile, axe, saw and outdoor toilet. For example, Urho Kekkonen National Park has a Turf hut that can be rented.
