Description: Iso Kallahde beach is a sandy beach with a beach voleyball court. Uinninvalvonta. Ison Kallahden uimaranta on tasaisesti syvenevä hiekkapohjainen ranta. Turvallisen uintialueen rajan ilmoittavat merkkipoijut ovat noin 25 - 30 metrin päässä rantaviivasta ja niiden kohdalla veden syvyys on noin 2,5 metriä. Uimarannan läheisyydessä noin 100 metrin päässä on ravintola Maininki. Rantalentopallokenttä ja leikkipaikka. Rannan läheisyydessä Kallahden kentän yhteydessä on parkkipaikka noin 30 autolle. Beachvolleyhyn / lentopalloon soveltuva pelialue on aivan uimarannan läheisyydessä Kaupunki valvoo uimarantoja uimakaudella ja ottaa rantojen vedestä vesinäytteitä näytteenottosuunnitelman mukaan. Finnish Names:: Types of Beaches in Finland Uimaranta / Uimarannat - This translates to “beach” in Finnish. Usually if you see this name it is a public beach, maintained by the city or local neighborhood. Some public beaches are natural but many are built up with sand added. Some might have lifeguards on duty during the summer. Most cities will provide some sort of facilities on the beach, like changing rooms, bathroom and pier. They either cut a hole in the ice (Avanto) or use a pump to keep the water open all winter. Many times a local association will be in charge or maintaining these. Some will build a sauna next to the Avanto. They are often free to use, but sometimes they charge a seasonal fee to use changing rooms / sauna.
