Huuhkajankannaksen vetotaival (Juttua-Lentua)

Description: If you are kayking the Kainuu Tervareit and want an alternative route, this is a place you could launch or a place where you can transport your kayaks. The Huuhkajankannas towpath was originally built 100 years ago when tar was transported by row boats to Oulu. The length of the track is 600 meters. The easternmost and wilder branch of the Kainuu Tervareit water hiking trail leads from Iivantiirajärvi to Juttuajärvi. A towpath has been built from its southernmost point, Huuhkajalahti, to Lentua. The Huuhkajankannas towpath from Juttua to Lentua creates a nice alternative route to the Kainuu Tervareitiu. Lentua leads to Huuhkajalampi and further to the waters of Lentua. The eastern side of Lentua is nicely archipelagoed, which protects the kayaker from stronger winds. The landscapes are more wilderness than the western route. A rail-mounted trailer makes it easier to move kayaking equipment or a light rowing boat from one lake to another. The equipment can be moved conveniently and relatively effortlessly on a powered trailer.
