Description: The Kalliojoki canoeing route starts at the Iso-Palonen nature reserve (there is a boat dock to launch kayaks on the map) and offers a scenic journey through rapids and lakes in Kuhmo. It features 16 rapids, with a total elevation drop of about 21 meters, and ends at Lentua. The route is suitable for paddling year-round, and as you look at the map there are many camping spots / huts available for staying overnight. Some people take a smaller section of this route callled "Kalliojoen melontareitti" and get off in Sumsa, where there is a kayaking pier.
