Description: This kayaking trip starts in Iso Sapsojärvi and explores the southern Kiantajärvi. Kiantajärvi is a very large lake south of Sotkamo. You can see by the map you start the trip in the center of Sotkamo at a nice kayak launch site. You cross the lake (can be choppy) and go under the Kuolaniemi bridge. Kiantajärvi Lake can also be very choppy waters. If it is windy you will want to kayak along the shores. If it is calmer weather it is easy paddling in the lake. It is 11 km from the bridge to the south side (Juurikkalahti) of Kiantajärvi Lake. From Juurikkalahti you can also continue south east to Kiantaperä.
