Most walkers follow the marked ring so that the steepest scree climb reaches Taivaskero before the longer descent toward Laukukero and the lower ski-area slopes back to the visitor centre. You can shorten or turn back along the Hetta–Pallas trail where the routes meet if conditions worsen.
