Description

Neitikoski Accessible Fish Trail is a short, marked walking route of about half a kilometre one way in the Ruunaa hiking area along the Lieksanjoki rapids in Lieksa, North Karelia. Metsähallitus maintains the trail — the Luontoon.fi trail page is the best place to confirm current conditions and services. The path starts from the Neitikoski parking cluster near Ruunaa Outdoor Centre on Neitikoskentie. The first section is a wide, stone-chip surface that VisitKarelia classifies as a demanding wheelchair segment; it then becomes an easier wooden boardwalk with edge strips along the duckboards. Along the way you pass Ämmäkoski esteetön tulentekopaikka 1 and Ämmäkoski tulentekopaikka 2 at the side-channel crossing, then Hongikkoranta tulentekopaikka above the dry channel. Length & route

The trail is about 0.5 km one way; you return along the same boardwalk and gravel, so allow roughly 1.0–1.2 km round trip if you walk every spur to the viewing platforms and fireplaces. The boardwalk crosses Ämmäkoski’s side channel on a footbridge before reaching the island and viewing points at Neitikoski.

Use Neitikoski pysäköintialue at Neitikoskentie 47, 81750 Pankakoski beside Ruunaa Outdoor Centre — free parking and orientation boards.
