Description

Muhos lies in North Ostrobothnia along the Oulujoki river. History

Keräsen torppa stands on the north side of the Oulujoki near the former Pyhäkoski, with a tenant contract from 1912 and buildings from about 1907–1924. Heikki Keränen was the last tenant under the old torppari system; the holding passed to Metsäntutkimuslaitos in 1980, when METLA incorporated the farm into a recreation route named Huikarin polku. Museovirasto noted the farm’s cultural-historical value as the last working torppa under the old system. The buildings later returned to private ownership.
