A map of 14 Wilderness Huts in Pielavesi.

A really nice Laavu. It is right on the

An extremely large (tall) Kota on the Urkin poloku hiking trail. There is woodshed, outdoor toilet and an outdoor grill. There is a lot of space here for a large group to come and spend time. The hut has a lot of space inside for a group as well. The hut is more on the "rugged side." Dirt floor, no lights.

A really nice area for a Laavu on the Urkin poloku (UP) hiking trail. It is next to a beautiful small pond / bog. The Laavu is in good condition, there is a lot of firewood and just overall peaceful location.

A double laavu on the edge of Lake Pielavesi. Probably there will be no one there if you go, maybe only locals. It is a little far out, off the main roads. The road to the Laavu can be a bit bumpy / pot holes.

Note: Our database was last synced in 2026. While we strive for accuracy, always consult the official website which we display on each place or route or notices at the trail for safety-critical updates or seasonal closures.
No. Huts.fi is an independent Finnish platform. While we work with official open-data sets from organizations like Metsähallitus, we are a private entity.

Our roadmap includes:
• Offline Maps: Downloadable trails for when you lose signal in the backwoods.
• Trail Navigation: Follow routes directly from your Phone or Watch.
• Live Safety Sharing: Real-time location sharing so friends and family know you're safe on the trail.
