The trail is about 3.5 km and starts from the Nuorisokeskus Metsäkartano outdoor centre in Rautavaara, North Savo. On local signs the same walk is labelled Luontopolku 2 / Haravapuron polku; Nuorisokeskus Metsäkartano publishes full directions, junctions, and fire rules for the turf hut and laavu along the way. Getting there

Drive to Nuorisokeskus Metsäkartano at Metsäkartanontie 700, 73900 Rautavaara. Nuorisokeskus Metsäkartano directs visitors to use the main centre parking; the Metsäkämpä road turnaround at the end of Metsäkämpäntie is only for exceptional parking, normally you leave the car in the official lot. From the yard the nature-trail gate sits behind the Savotta building and bioenergy plant toward the shore, where a lit exercise track heads along the beach past the camping area before branching toward the turf hut and Haravapuro loop.
