The trail is about 9.5 km and links the Juustopolku (Heinola) hiking corridor with the Valo-Ilves lit outdoor route in Heinola, in the Päijät-Häme region. It is a point-to-point connector through the Jyrängön–Korvenlampi–Läpiänjärvi forest area, where the wider trail network combines Valo-Ilves, forest paths, and Juustopolku into longer loops such as the 15 km Korvenlammen kierros. Markings change by network leg: the Korvenlammen loop uses red arrows counter-clockwise, Valo-Ilves uses blue arrows counter-clockwise, and the historic Juustopolku main line is described elsewhere with dense white markings on posts and trees.

Getting there

Pick your start to match whether you want to connect toward Juustopolku (Heinola) or toward Valo-Ilves and Vierumäki. Heinola publishes printable PDF maps for Korvenlampi and for Valo-Ilves with the sports institute area. Vuolenkoski at the far end of the full Juustopolku has no public bus, so one-way walks of the long cheese route usually need two cars or a taxi; this 9.5 km segment is shorter but still benefits from planning parking at both ends if you walk it as a shuttle.
