Description

The Pappilanniemi Nature Trail is a 1.7 km loop on Pappilanniemi peninsula in Lappeenranta, South Karelia, on Lake Saimaa beside the Kaukas mill area. Lappeenranta lies in South Karelia. For the fullest practical picture—lighting, accessibility, the 28.8 ha conservation setting, spring birdlife, and the free Pappilansalmi rowing-boat link across to the eastern shore—start with Visit Lappeenranta’s Pappilanniemi pages. Saimaa Geopark explains the Ice Age silokalliot shorelines and glacial wear visible along the northwest shores. Getting there

By car the trail starts from parking on Isännöitsijäntie, roughly 4 km from the city centre toward the Kaukas area. From the water tower follow Valtakatu downhill, then turn left at the second lit traffic lights toward Kaukas and continue past the gate straight toward Pappilanniemi; the path leaves beside the parking lot.
