History

Sauvo’s stone church was built in stages about 1460–1472 and dedicated to Saint Clement; surviving vaulted-chapel wall paintings date from the 1470s with floral ornament and apostolic figures. Haaviston mylly by the mill dam was built in the early twentieth century and ground local farm grain into the 1960s. The former dairy on Vintterintie now houses Sauvon kirjasto and municipal youth facilities.
