Getting there

You join polku 3 after you are already on Iso Linnamäki north of Old Porvoo (roughly 60.400°N, 25.651°E). Visit Porvoo suggests about a five-minute walk from the old town to the foot of the hill before you wind upward on the inner paths. Many people hike in from Maari along the riverside as in the Retkipaikka narrative. Wear shoes with a secure grip because earthworks and bridges stay uneven and can be slick after rain. Timber castle buildings have not survived; today’s paths mainly follow earthworks, moat traces, and viewpoints.
